How to Draw a Mandala for Healing

Artist: Rachael "BluLotus" Bynum
The picture you see above is from my first attempt at drawing a mandala for meditation. I drew it with the help of this tutorial on  How to Draw a Mandala

What is a Mandala?

Mandala means circle in Sanskrit. Mandalas are sacred circles that have been long been used to facilitate meditation in the Indian and Tibetan religions. People create them by using pencils, crayons, paint, etc. Then they can be used as a healing art to center the body, mind, and spirit.

An increasing number  of clinical trials suggests that meditation has the ability to boost the immune system, reduce stress, reduce pain, lower blood pressure, and promote sleep.

Drawing Mandalas allows one to express his/her creativity, which many people neglect day to day. Children can greatly benefit from coloring mandalas in a coloring book in order to deal with their emotions and cope with not always being able to verbalize what they're feeling, especially autistic children. People who are dealing with terminal illnesses and depression can use mandalas to focus their energy on these objects as a creative outlet.

I hope you find the time to add Mandalas to your life.  Start today by learning How to Draw a Mandala
